Privacy By Design
The SFC Safe Sensor uses safe, low-power radio waves — similar to those already used in everyday devices like smartphones — without capturing images, sound, or personal identity so privacy remains intact.
Privacy and dignity come first. By eliminating cameras, monitoring stays non-intrusive; even in bedrooms and bathrooms, while still delivering accurate, reliable insights.
This means no audio is ever recorded or transmitted, giving you peace of mind that your loved ones' conversations remain private.
Our ambient, contact-free sensors monitor activity and detects falls while respecting personal space; no wearables required, ensuring privacy & comfort.

Key Features
Capabilities
Safe Sense doesn’t just wait for something to go wrong. Over time, it learns your loved one’s everyday patterns — how they move, rest, and breathe — and gently signals when those patterns shift. This deeper understanding helps you see signs of change earlier, so you can support their wellbeing before emergencies arise.
90% accuracy, it detects fast, slow, and partial falls — including the bathroom, where most accidents occur. Alert sent to family within seconds of confirmation.
When a fall or serious event happens, the sensor responds automatically, alerting family and professional help if needed — no buttons to press, no daily monitoring required.
Monitors daily routines using ambient sensing — no cameras or microphones. It tracks movement, vitals, rest, & time spent in key areas, noticing meaningful changes over time.
Detects when someone gets out of bed and monitors night-time movement, alerting caregivers to frequent or high-risk activity to help prevent falls.
Designed to protect dignity and privacy of your loved one; with no cameras, microphones, or wearables — safe for use in bedrooms and bathrooms.
Turns sensor data into clear, easy-to-understand insights on your phone; with weekly summaries of activity and trends, early warnings for emerging risks, and support for proactive — not just reactive —care.
Wellness Insights
Small shifts in breathing, sleep, or activity are often the first signs of a health change. Noticing them early makes it easier to check in and address issues before they become more serious.
Daily patterns like time in bed, movement, and routine help establish a baseline. When something changes, it’s easier to understand whether it’s minor or worth paying attention to.
Regular summaries of activity and vital patterns provide a steady sense of how things are going, without needing constant check-ins or guesswork.
Room Coverage
Reliable coverage in humid, high‑risk spaces where falls are common; and cameras, buttons, or wearables aren’t practical.
Detects sudden falls during daily routines like cooking, reaching, or standing for long periods.
Detects bed‑exit falls and night‑time trips to the bathroom, when balance and awareness are reduced.
The main space for daytime activity, conversations, and natural movement throughout the day.

HOW IT WORKS
The SFC Safe Sensor identifies a genuine fall or high‑priority event in the room, filtering out everyday movement to avoid false alarms
Alerts are sent immediately through the Care Tree, which is set up during your onboarding meeting. The right people are notified first, with clear details about what happened and where.
If no one in the Care Tree responds within a defined time, the system automatically escalates the alert to professional support—ensuring help is never missed.
With accurate detection and automatic escalation, response times improve without requiring the person to press a button or call for help.

A basic motion sensor (like the kind in hallway lights) only detects gross movement and can't distinguish a fall from walking past. A camera captures images — which means privacy concerns and legal restrictions, especially in bathrooms. mmWave radar is completely different: it emits radio waves and reads the return signal, detecting precise movement, breathing patterns, and position changes without forming any image. It's the same technology used in automotive collision systems and aerospace applications
Yes — and this is critical, because the bathroom is where most falls happen. Because the SFC Safe Sensor captures no images, it's legally and ethically permitted in the bathroom. A sensor mounted in the corner of a bathroom will detect a fall, a prolonged period on the floor, or any unusual movement. This is something a camera-based solution, by definition, cannot do.
Yes. The AI model is trained to distinguish between the movement signature of a person and that of a pet. The system calibrates to the specific room so that an average dog or cat moving through the room will not trigger a fall alert. However, the sensor can have trouble with very large dogs 120 lbs+.
The system is designed to minimize false alarms — the 98.3% false alarm reduction rate comes from a configurable confirmation delay (we recommend 90 seconds). If someone crouches, sits on the floor, or moves quickly, the sensor waits to see if they recover on their own before sending any alert. You can also adjust sensitivity and delay timing in the app based on your loved one's habits.
Absolutely — in fact, it's designed for this. SFC caregivers can be added as alert contacts, and if you're on our Homecare 3.0 program, the wellness data from the sensor feeds directly into your quarterly nursing review and care plan. The sensor extends our visibility between visits and helps us provide smarter, more proactive care.
Absolutely. Inviting support into your home—whether for home care, personal care, or homemaking—is a deeply personal decision.
At Second Family Care, our mission is to help people remain safely in their homes, with dignity and on their own terms. That starts with listening, respecting your choices, and meeting you where you are.
Like any meaningful relationship, we take the time to build trust and familiarity—so if your needs ever change, you can feel confident knowing our team is ready to support you.
We’re always just a phone call away.
